Safety Awards & Achievements

Pelly Construction conducts operations with the highest regard to safety. To attest to this is a list of awards and achievements:

Safety Awards

  • 2006, 2007 & 2011 Brule Mine Awarded the Edward Prior Safety Award for a minimum of 200,000, but less than 1,000,000 worker hours and the lowest lost-time accident frequency rate.
  • 2004 & 2005 Dillon Mine Awarded the Stewart O’Brian Safety Award for minimum of 35,000, but less than 200,000 worker hours and the lowest lost-time accident frequency rate.
  • 2006 & 2008 Brule Mine Awarded the John T. Ryan National award – lowest accident for Canadian coal mines

Recognition

  • 2008 - Pelly Construction congratulates their employees at Capstone Mining’s Minto Mine for achieving safety excellence in 2008. In excess of 159,000 man-hours were worked with zero lost time, zero incidents , and zero medical aids.
  • 2010 - Pelly Construction congratulates their employees at Capstone Mining’s Minto Mine for achieving safety excellence in 2010. In excess of 186,000 man hours worked with zero lost time and zero incidents.
  • 2010 - Pelly Construction successfully developed and implemented a Safety Management System to a standard established by the Northern Safety Network Yukon. April 22, 2010.
