Pelly Construction has been actively involved in both the construction and open pit operation of Minto Mine since 1996. Pelly constructed the 27 km access road, including a reroute of Big Creek and installation of flood control measures, and established much of the rough cuts necessary for future camp and mill footprints for Minto Explorations Ltd. Currently, production and earth works at the Minto Mine are between 15,000 – 20,000 bcm per day.  Mine operations include all pre-stripping, drilling and blasting, overburden waste and ore loading, hauling and placement. Site works entailing construction, maintenance and expansion of all site access roads, dry-stack tailing, stockpile and crusher feed, drainage construction, building areas and an airstrip. The Minto Mine is located within the Selkirk First Nation Traditional Territory and Settlement Lands. Pelly and Selkirk First Nation have a comprehensive Mine Opportunities Agreement in place and work within the guidelines and provisions set out  in the MOA. Pelly Construction is proud of the good standing long term relationship with the Selkirk First Nation.
