Pelly has successfully engaged and worked cooperatively with First Nations throughout the Yukon, British Columbia and Northwest Territories on various projects. Pelly welcomes the opportunity of working with the local community and residents through regional economic development, business opportunities, employment, education and training.
PORCUPINE ENTERPRISES LTD.
Porcupine Enterprises was formed in 2003 to complete earthworks projects in northern Yukon. The company is jointly owned by Vuntut Gwitchin Limited Partnership and Pelly Construction Ltd. Porcupine Enterprises is a successful Aboriginal business having completed numerous contracts in Canada’s far north. Examples of these projects include: construction and decommission of the 260 km winter road to Old Crow from the Dempster Highway, rock quarry development on Crow Mountain, building of a rip-rap armor revetment on Porcupine River, airstrip construction, road construction and rock crushing.
RIVER’S EDGE WATERFRONT CONDOMINIUM
This three-story mixed-use condominium development was made possible through a partnership among the Ta’an Development Corp., the Vuntut Gwitchin Limited Partnership, and Pelly Construction. Situated next to Shipyards Park at the corner of First Avenue and Ogilvie Street, River’s Edge offers incredible views of the Yukon River and surrounding clay cliffs. There are six residences, including two two-bedroom-plus-den units, three two-bedroom units, and one one-bedroom penthouse suite. Commercial units are available for sale or lease on the first and second floors. Future developments are in early planning stages.
